Through the rapid digitalization of the world, more and more occupations use computers and modern technology. The work-from-home model has increased in popularity through recent years and has sparked the beginning of a new age.
The Covid-19 pandemic accelerated this process by forcing a large fraction of the global workforce to switch to the WFH model. Compared to Working from the Office [WFO], WFH has the potential to reduce commute time, provide more flexible working hours, increase job satisfaction, and improve work-life balance. However, little is yet known about some of the more fundamental consequences of WFH, including its effects on productivity and on social behavior, and which factors play a role in making WFH more or less productive than WFO.
The aim of this research is to bring clarity to managers and supervisors on how the WFH model affects the productivity and quality of a company's workload.
